ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- The English language requirements for our courses are provided on individual course pages as minimum IELTS scores, however we accept many other tests and qualifications.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements
- Applicants from Denmark who have completed the following can be considered for direct entry:
- Bevis Studentereksamen (STX) or Højere Forberedelseseksamen (HF)
- Højere Handelseksamen (HHX)/Højere Teknisk Eksamen (HTX) can apply for direct entry onto Birkbeck’s undergraduate degrees.
- Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-levels will be considered for direct admission to our undergraduate degree programmes. IB requirements range from 28 to 33, depending on the course.
- Applicants who fall short of the entry requirements may also complete a Foundation course for entry onto undergraduate programmes at the university. These offer the opportunity for guaranteed progression onto Birkbeck’s Bachelor programmes.
- A-level AAA = 144 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 12 (7-point scale), 11 (13-point scale)
- A-level AAB = 136 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 10 (7-point scale), 10 (13-point scale)
- A-level ABB = 128 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 10 (7-point scale), 10 (13-point scale)
- A-level BBB = 120 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 7 (7-point scale), 9 (13-point scale)
- A-level BBC = 112 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 7 (7-point scale), 9 (13-point scale)
- A-level BCC = 104 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 7 (7-point scale), 8 (13-point scale)
- A-level CCC = 96 UCAS tariff points = comparable offer 4 (7-point scale), 7 (13-point scale).

Postgraduate Entry Requirements
- To be considered for entry onto a Master’s degree at Birkbeck, a student from Denmark must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree/Candidatus/Magister from a reputable university. Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower-level degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.
- Please note that the Magisterii is equivalent to a British taught Master’s degree; your application may be considered if you have completed four out of five years of your Magisterii. We also may accept lower grades from a Magisterii than from a Bachelor’s degree.
- If you do not meet these criteria, you can apply for OnCampus' Master's Foundation programme, which is available for 2- or 3-term progression onto a wide range of Master’s degrees at Birkbeck.
- Magisterii and Bachelor’s degree scoring:
- Pre-2007 Danish degree classification: 13 (alternative name: Exceptionally independent and excellent performance); post-2007 Danish degree classification: 12 (alternative name: Excellent with no or few minor weaknesses); English translation or equivalent: Exceptional 1st
- Pre-2007 Danish degree classification: 11 (alternative name: Independent and excellent performance); post-2007 Danish degree classification: 12 (alternative name post-2007: Excellent with no or few minor weaknesses); English translation or equivalent: 1st
- Pre-2007 Danish degree classification: 10 (alternative name: Excellent performance); post-2007 Danish degree classification: 10 (alternative name: Good with only minor weaknesses); English translation or equivalent: 2:1
- Pre-2007 Danish degree classification: 9 (alternative name: Good performance); post-2007 Danish degree classification: 7 (alternative name: Good with some weaknesses); English translation or equivalent: 2:2.

Research degrees Entry Requirements
- For entry onto our research degree courses, students should normally have a Candidatus (second-level degree) or Magisterii. However, schools also accept students with high grades in Bachelor’s degree or a Candidatus Philosophiae (before 1995).
- Applicants are strongly urged to contact potential supervisors within the department before submitting a research application.
GLOBAL FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP
Discover our Global Future Master’s scholarships for postgraduate students. The scholarship will be applied as a discount to the tuition fee for the first year of your full-time master's course, to bring it in line with the Home tuition fee amount, if you are eligible. You don’t need to apply for the scholarship because it will be automatically applied by our admissions team at the time of enrolment.
